Employee Benefits


The Simply Health Cash Plan helps cover the cost of everyday healthcare bills giving you added peace of mind and allowing you to get on with enjoying life. You can claim on dentist and optician bills as well as on the cost of complementary therapies covering acupuncture, chiropractic, osteopathy, physiotherapy, chiropody and podiatry, all up to an annual limit.


St. John’s offers the option of an interest free season ticket loan whereby St. John’s pays upfront for a season ticket (for the train or bus) which the employee pays back in 12 (or 3 for bus tickets only) monthly instalments. There is no tax advantage to this scheme but you have the advantage of not having to pay a lump sum yourself.


The Bike to Work Scheme is a salary sacrifice scheme whereby you can save tax and N.I. on the purchase of a bike and safety equipment.

By the end of the 12 month loan you will have made an approximate saving of 25-30% on the cost of a bike and safety equipment.


GymFlex is a salary sacrifice scheme where St. John’s will pay for your annual gym membership and adjust your salary accordingly. You will save an average of 15% off the monthly membership fee.

GymFlex partners with gym chains, leisure centres, hotel health clubs, independent gyms, boot camps and yoga studios, include David Lloyd, Virgin Active, DW Sports, Better Leisure, Everyone Active, 1 life, 3D Leisure, LivingWell, Pure Gyms, Fitness First and thousands more. If you are an existing gym member on a fixed term contract, please contact your gym first to see if you can change over to GymFlex with St. John’s.

St. John’s retains the services of Simply Health to provide an Employee Assistance Programme offering independent and confidential coaching and counselling for all staff. They also offer unlimited advice and information in areas such as careers, housing, money, relationships and your health and wellbeing.

Health & Fitness

Enjoy taking part in discounted health and fitness sessions. These are held weekly at the College or School sites after work.
